17th i believe matey

looks good ill go see it , however i think its going to be a sickly moralistic lecture of a movie ;)
"Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create money, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take away from them the power to create money and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But, if you wish to remain the slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create money." Josiah Stamp (Governor Bank of England 1928-41)

I finally went and saw this yesterday. The 3D looks very good, though your eyes know something weird is going on and both eyes and brain end up doing a bit of extra work. The 3D nevertheless stood in considerable contrast to that in the previews, which was heavy on the gimmicks.

The story was very engaging and Pandora is beautiful. There were no surprises in the story, perhaps, but I thought Cameron treated his audience intelligently by not trying to pretend we didn't know where it was going. It would be a great movie even without the 3D. The only slight hiccup I thought was the other male researcher - Noel, I think? I got the sense that a storyline was edited out there, with him initially resenting the main character when he began achieving so much. Easy to shrug off though.

old but funneh

'Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound to others. Past and present. And by each crime, and every kindness, we birth our future.'

'We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection.
The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.'

I enjoyed it, but it struck me as very much scifi for chavs. You know, pop music of the scifi world. Stick your brain in neutral and watch the pretty pictures.

Plus, Cameron stole Nagrand. And Star Wars did the living planet thing a few years back.
