According to wikipedia the sequel is supposed to be out next year ;)
Of course he has been talking about that for ages.
I just hope that when they release a sequel it will be a mmo (makes sense) and keeps the frontier physics :P
I love the Newtonian physics :)
But in most likelyhood it is vapourware.

Great game, its the game that got me in to Computer gaming, my cousin had it on his BBC Micro.
Anyway, as per usual, the BBC are late in getting their info, Elite was 25 years old yesterday ;)

Never played the original, but I was deeply into Privateer.

I've told the story countless times, so most likely you know it already. But 24 years ago I went pretty much insane for playing Elite for a week, day in and day out with perhaps 2 hours of sleep per night... But I recovered well, these days I *usually* remember most of the time I am not a space-pilot flying illegal stuff from solar-system to solar-system :D

25 years, how time flies.
I remember it was a pain to dock those spaceships because the rectangular port was rotating and if you missed rotating equally fast you died.
That is about all I remember. It makes you wonder how good a game it actually was :)

I only ever played the sequel Frontier Elite 2 which was both awesome and awesomely hard.

I had the original Elite on acorn electron then on my earliest Amstrad PC. Loved that game.
Ill have to keep an eye out for the next Gen version if they are planning it
