Title: Origin: how evil is it really?
Post by: Goatboy on August 15, 2013, 06:46:34 AM
Regarding the current humble bundle: https://www.humblebundle.com/?originbundle (https://www.humblebundle.com/?originbundle)

Does anyone actually have Origin installed? Any big negatives?
EA, evil, silly bans for criticizing the company in forums, etc. But how bad is it really if that?

On EA's behalf, giving all the money to charity is of course nice, but it's pretty much an attempt to boost their PR and expand their Origin userbase amirite?

Origin is a horribly inferior platform than any other digital delivery system for games, yet EA force people to use it by monopolising their own games to that platform.

In what other market would it be ok to push an inferior product?

Surely to compete against the market leader (steam) you surely put in effort with your deals etc? check out the "deals" button in origin, see any deals?

Its like sucking someone who is sucking monkeyballs

ITs a horrible platform. Its worse than steam back in the CS 1.3 time
