4.0.3a on PTR

I know this has already been posted up on MMO champ, but I had to share it. I've been pratting about ont he PTR yesterday and today, and I have to say, I am very impressed and excited to the changes wrought in Azeroth. Won't spoil any of it for you guys, but next week is going to be awesome, and the 07/12 will be even better.

Just done Strat liveside (not that its live anymore mind...), and I love what they've done with the instanced. Retuned for mid 40's may be, but a heck of a lot more fun.

Plus, my Dorf Hunter now has a Fox pet

Part two of Kurtt's adventures in new Azeroth.

Took my Dorf Hunter down to Searing Gorge to try and find some level appropriate questing (WPL and EPL were to low for him!).

After scratching my head at Thorium Point wondering why there were not quests, I found a new TB camp at the entrance to the Badlands. This lead on to a really nice series of quests which ends up at Thorium Point. Won't spoil it for you, but they're very fun. Looking forward to doing the whole zone, plus Burning Steppes on live.

Then I decided to roll a human Hunter and check that out. Wow, they have totally revamped the Human starting zone, and it is much nicer. No longer do you gear up from trash drops, but every quest awards you a class specific peice of armour (white gear, no stats etc) with new models. So you end up looking very cool by the end of it. Observe:

Seem to be. By level 5 I'd gotten an armour piece for all slots barr head, shoulders and rings, and a new melee and ranged weapon.

Just seen on MMO champ that xp for 71-80 is being reduced by 20% come 4.0.3a. Good new for my 70 shammie!

Reduced?  Jesus.  My girl and I swam through 72 - 80 with casual playing in less then a month.  They might as well just let you create a character at level 80.

Aye its a little off putting reducing the Xp for 71-80 as my DK did it in no time as it was - when i discount all the profession time I spent farting about.

It doesnt need to be faster.

I like this change. Northrend is old news when you've levelled through it six times or so. It doesn't seem to have the replay value that Outland had/has, mainly due to a lot of shared zones (Horde/Alliance using same quest hubs etc). Theres no variety in the levelling path.

At least now I have the will to get my Shammie and Mage through Northrend and on to 85.

i put a month on my account because my son wanted me to help him and his 4 mates get their characters to lvl 70. I lvl'd my Lock , Hunter and Rogue from 70 - 80 in just under 2 weeks and now they are making it even easier?

Bah.. its turning into a noobfest.  Bring back the good old lvl 60 max where MC was the top notch instance.  i sooo miss those days.

oh and a side note.  How easy have they made it to get gold?  by the time i'd lvl'd all 3 to 80 i had over 2k gold in the bank again.Gave it all to my boy the day before the months time ran  out.
