Planetside 2 / Looking into this...
« on: August 13, 2012, 09:17:21 AM »
Ey up guys, long time. Hope all is good.

Me and Pidge have been completely blown away by the vids we've watched on PS2, and will definitely be cracking on with it on release (or hopefully before if we get in the beta). What's happening with you guys? Are there set 'Clans/Guilds' etc ingame? I know a few of you will be playing it, so would make sense to join up with you. And more importantly, what race are you gunning towards? I know you PSers are pretty devout when it comes to your blood  ;)

Star Wars: The Old Republic / 1.2...thoughts
« on: April 13, 2012, 12:42:56 PM »
Right, gave 1.2 a go lastnight, and this is my review of it...

You can now drag things onto another thing in a window...

You now have to spend all of your time grinding for credits to actually experience legacy in the way intended...

Anyone actually had any good experiences/thoughts so far? Sadly, this is not the Jesus patch I thought it would be. Hell, it's barely only a pizza delivery boy.

Star Wars: The Old Republic / THF Update
« on: January 24, 2012, 01:07:29 PM »
Being our big sister guild and all (aswell as some of you having toons in it), thoguht i'd give a bit of a status report from Nightmare Lands

THF has grown a bit, 15 or so players at the mo, getting to the stage where we have 10+ members online at peak times, still trying to get the social stage though, everyone seems quiet :p Everyone is around the lv 25-30 mark, give or take. I even started an IA to get in on the noob action.

So get your toons in if you haven't already, and pay us a visit!

Star Wars: The Old Republic / Magenta Crystal - I know how to get one...
« on: January 11, 2012, 12:26:59 PM »
This is a bit of a 2 part thing, you need the raw crystal but also someone with a recipe to turn it into a lightsaber crystal -

1. Go to Tatooine and get the water buff. The one from clicking a water tower panel

2. Go to Hoth and climb the highest mountain. The closest base for Horde....erm I mean Empire...is Lesh outpost, so will be equiv for Republic. you can see the mountain (well its the highest one, what more do you want?). The water buff will be exhumed and an item 'Shockfrozen Water' will move into your inventory.

3. Needs a group of lv50s. Tank, healer, dps set up. there is a cave on Ilum, not sure where but can easily be looked up. Go in, click an item, beat a lv 50 boss mob and a crystal mound is spawned. loot this for the crystal. Only 1 person at a time i'm afraid.

Now you just need to either find someone with the desired crystal recipe and probably pay have to pay about 30 billion ISK for the craft, or if an Artifice, you get the recipes (there are 3 diff ones) from higher level world bosses

Star Wars: The Old Republic / Instance Runs
« on: December 16, 2011, 10:56:14 AM »
Thought I'd make a post so we can arrange any instance runs with each other here when we're not ingame etc. rather than them getting lost in the shoutbox or having loads of different threads. Suppose this will be handier when we get out of starting areas and into the 4 man dungeons and eventually Operations.

So if you want to do an instance, and need members, just post the Flashpoint name, date, time then replies will be taken as 1st come first serve.

Star Wars: The Old Republic / What's Next for The Old Republic?
« on: December 13, 2011, 12:41:13 PM »
bit of info from the Bioware dudes. Sounds very promising, especially UI customisation and....wait for it....Guild Capital Ships!

Welcome to Star Wars™: The Old Republic™. It’s been many years in the making and the team is very proud of what we’ve achieved. Since we’re an online game we are going to continue building on the game for years to come. You can count on us to diligently expand the game and service to surprise and delight you. We’re going to not only respond to your feedback, but also hopefully exceed your expectations on how Star Wars: The Old Republic will evolve over time.

Many of you helped make the game what it is today by participating in our testing programs. You’ve watched the game grow over the past year and have been very vocal about things you’d like to see in the game in the future.

A team is never finished building a massively multiplayer game, so we’d like to take this opportunity to reveal a little information on what the team is working on for patches coming in the near future. Our priorities have been, and will continue to be, based off of the feedback we receive from our players.

• New Content – We will be adding new content to the galaxy on an ongoing basis. These worlds will include Operations, Flashpoints and solo content.

• Guild Functionality – Guilds are important to the long term health of any MMORPG. We have a huge list of guild centric features. This will be an ongoing effort that will probably never end. Guild banks are the first thing we’ll be delivering in our plans for increased guild functionality. Eventually we even want to deliver on the promise of the long hinted at “Guild Capital Ships”.

• UI customization – You like choice. We hear you! SWTOR is all about choice. Being able to choose how you interact with an online game is something we feel is very important. We are going to be giving more control over the UI as an ongoing effort. This is a very big priority for us.

• PvP – We have an entire team dedicated to adding content and features to player vs. player. We have some of the most experienced PvP developers in the world on this team. So far very few people have seen, or know much about the stunning Open World PVP on Ilum; when you get to the high levels prepare to be blown away! In addition to that high level PVP content, expect new Warzones and new PvP features on a regular basis.

• Space Combat – We will continue to add missions to the space game. We also have a special project going on right now that will expand space gameplay in a significant way... for now the details will have to remain under wraps.

• Legacy System – The ability to select a surname for your character is just the start of something much bigger. Soon, the Legacy experience and levels you earn will grant your characters access to powers, objects and other cool benefits.

• And more – We have an entire team of developers working on future content. Right now we are focused on nothing else but Star Wars: The Old Republic, so expect new and cool things.

It is fair to say that we’re just as excited as you are about the launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Not only are we launching one of the largest and most impressive games ever created, but we’re also excited about the prospect of continuing to work on the game so that you, the fans, will always have something heroic and amazing to enjoy. Thanks for playing.

one of the battlegrounds in SWTOR. It's called Huttball and is like football/rugby/american football/aussie rules etc etc etc. And I think it looks awesome. Which is weird. I usually think MMO BGs are a bag of wank.

EVE Online / Epic suicide gank in high sec!
« on: June 24, 2011, 09:51:43 AM »
So a member of our (Pandion Knights) corp was suicide ganked lastnight carrying hundreds and hundreds of awesome BPCs (given to us by Ped, infact)  back through high-sec to our HQ. It's a massive kick in the teeth to the corp, and Spike lost a well equipped Coveter in the process, but I have to admit, it was fookin COOL. and this is why....

they had an Obelisk, surrounded by a huge convoy of Armageddons and other ships at a gate in 0.5 space. I saw this myself and stopped to look (as did spike), as obviously most high-sec newer players havent seen anything like this before. Oh boy was this a mistake...It looked like they were escorting the obelisk full of awesome goodies back to low/null sec or something. What we didn't see were the cloaked ninja scanners, scanning ship cargo holds. Yep, it was a massive setup. The obelisk was there to disguise it as an escort op, while the ship scanners decided whether you had enough good stuff in your cargo, then one of the 'escort' ships would sacrifice himself at the hands of concorde to kill you, and the others looted. Have to admit. thats pretty awesome (if it wasnt for our stuff being nicked)

General Gaming / World of Tanks
« on: May 11, 2011, 10:35:01 AM »
So where have I been? places, that's where i've fucking been.

But aside from Rift and EVE (as soon as I get paid so I can afford to re-sub again), I've been playing World of Tanks a bit with Pidge. It's not bad as a pick up, put down kind of game. You start off with a shit tank, have tank battles, get xp and credits, upgrade tank, or get new better tank etc etc etc

A lot of fun. Can see it beign a laugh with a load of us over TS. And the best thing about it? It's free!!!!!!! (with an option to pay for a premium version for more perks. yippe kay yay, motherfuckers.
